Pauline Snyder, 92, died April 9, 2012, at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita.
She was born May 22, 1919, in Maple City, Kan., the daughter of Perry and Blanche (Pettigrew) Morgan.
Pauline graduated from Dexter High School, Dexter, Kan., and later at the age of 53 received her nursing degree in McPherson, Kan. She then worked as a nurse for Halstead Hospital and for the American Red Cross. After retiring from nursing she became a sorority housemother at both the Universities of Arkansas and Indiana. Pauline attended the First Congregational Church in Hutchinson.
On July 9, 1938, she married Maurice Snyder. He died March 17, 1973.
Survivors include: three children, Maurita Walton and husband James of Alamo, Calif., Paulette Davison of Wichita, and Jack Snyder and wife Rhonda of Terre Haute, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Teri Whiteford, Colleen Davison, Gordon Walton, Garrett Walton, Elizabeth Snyder, Bill Snyder, and Alexandra Snyder; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kent Davison; granddaughter, Jillian Snyder; five brothers, Jerome, Howard, Frank, Dick and Larry Morgan; and two sisters, Gladys Herrington and Jan Hart.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at First Congregational Church, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Maple City Cemetery, Maple City, Kan.
