E.S. "Bill" Fast, 94, died December 29, 2012, at Hospice House.

He was born December 11, 1918, in Burlington, Kansas, to George Ezra and Mable Lillian (Carlyle) Fast.

On August 17, 1940, he married Beulah N. Sturgeon in Hutchinson. She died September 22, 2007. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1945-1946.

Bill was a power plant operator and retired from American Packaging Corporation in 1981, as a maintenance carpenter, after 39 years of service. He was a longtime member of Union Valley Bible Church and a charter member of Young at Heart Bible Study and Support Group.

Survivors include: four sons, Harold Fast (Wilma A.) of Hutchinson, Larry Fast, Hutchinson, Phillip Fast (Wilma L.), Hutchinson, and William Fast (Pamela), Buhler; daughter, Mary Ann Fast, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by a son, Robert Fast, two brothers, Gerald and Eldon Fast, two sisters, Ella May Lindsey and Lola Buskirk.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Union Valley Bible Church with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.

Memorials may be made to Union Valley Bible Church or Young at Heart, in care of the mortuary.
