A. Ione Hidde, 84, went to be with the Lord Dec. 16, 2006, passing at her home in Casper, Wyo.
She was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Jacksonburg, W. Va., the daughter of Arch and Alma Ash Cain. In 1940, she graduated from Raymond, Kan., High School and in 1941 from the Adale Hale Business College, Hutchinson. A Hutchinson resident since 1989, moving from Winfield, she was a former resident of Great Bend and had recently moved to Casper, Wyo., to live with her daughter. She had been a secretary at Western Manufacturing, Winfield.
She belonged to First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson, where she was a Sunday School teacher and church librarian. In Casper, she was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Great Bend, and was a 13-year volunteer for Hospice of Reno County.
On Nov. 10, 1943, she married Victor O. Hidde in Coffeyville. He died March 11, 2002.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry and wife, Judy, Hutchinson, and Rocky and wife, Shawna, Russell; two daughters, Susan Scheck and husband, R.J., Casper, Wyo., and Donna Hidde, Bunker Hill; a sister, Ida Lou Funk, Winfield; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Don Cain.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Great Bend, with Pastor Ray E. Kempel officiating. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to First Southern Baptist Church, Hospice of Reno County, College Heights Baptist Church or Central Wyoming Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
