Obituary

Aaron David Chaffin, 51, passed away August 11, 2026, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1974, in Hutchinson, KS, to Albert Ray and Pamela Jean (Cruth) Chaffin.

In 1994, Aaron graduated from Hutchinson High School and later worked for Napco Westlake Chemical in McPherson.

Aaron was an extraordinary, gifted artist, whose creativity and talent were truly unmatched. But even greater than his artistic ability, was the love he had for his family and those closest to him. He loved deeply, created beautifully, and left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Aaron is survived by: his son, Ashton Chaffin; parents, Pam and Bert Chaffin; brother, Adam Chaffin; sisters, Adriann (Mitchell) Baldwin and Angie (Francisco Raigoza) Weesner; and many nieces and nephews with whom he shared an incredibly special bond.

He was preceded in death by: several beloved grandparents; aunts; uncles; and friends.

Aaron left pieces of himself behind- not only through his artwork, but in memories, laughter, conversations, and the love he shared all throughout his life. His art will remain a beautiful reminder of the way he saw the world, but the greatest part of his legacy will always be the people he cherished and the love he gave them.

Per Aarons wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held following what would have been Aaron’s 52nd birthday in October. Details will be announced at a later date

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Aaron Chaffin memorial fund, established to benefit his son, Ashton. Please make checks payable to Elliott Mortuary, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
