Obituary

Adelyn Virginia Ewbank, 94, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at her home in Lynn Haven, Fla. She was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Hutchinson, the daughter of the late Axel and Gerda Quarnstrom.

Adelyn attended Bethany College in Lindsborg and Emporia State Teacher's College, where she met her late husband, Col. William L. Ewbank, of Emporia. They were married during World War II and Bill continued to serve in the U.S. Air Force following the war.

During their more than 50 years of marriage, Adelyn and he moved many times for assignments in the United States and Europe. Adelyn is survived by: brother, Carl Quarnstrom, and wife Betty of Topeka; daughter, Carole V. Mabardy and husband David of Panama City, Fla.; sons, William L. Ewbank III and wife Victoria of Northville, New York, Blake S. Ewbank of Tallahassee, Fla.; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at the Fairlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Carey officiating.
