Obituary

ARLINGTON - Agnes Irene Moore, 97, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born Nov. 8, 1911, on a farm east of Langdon, the daughter of Oscar and Mabel Brooks Dilliard.

She had lived in Arlington since 1951. She taught first and second grades in Alden for nine years and in Turon for 10 years, retiring in 1976.

She was a graduate of Langdon High School, Hutchinson Community College and Emporia State University.

She belonged to Arlington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, teachers' sorority Delta Kappa Gamma and Arlington Senior Citizens. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hutchinson.

On Sept. 18, 1932, she married Wilbur F. Moore. He died in 1972, and her son Richard died in 1986. A brother, Emil Dillard; sister, Helen L. Hobbs; a nephew, Donald Coffee; sisters-in-law, Leona Dillard, Hannah Moore and Ruby Coffee also preceded her in death.

She is survived by: nieces, Earline Nairn and Virginia Langrehr, both of Great Bend, and two nephews, Darrell and Douglas Coffee, California.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Arlington United Methodist Church, with Pastors Dennis Wallace and Ken Keeling presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Interment will be in Langdon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Arlington Senior Citizens or to the donor's choice in care of the mortuary.
