Agnes M. (Beat) Pauly, 101, of Mesa, AZ, died December 26, 2022, at her home. She was born May 26, 1921, in Murdock, KS, to William F. and Gertrude B. (Struble) Beat.
Agnes graduated from Kingman High School in 1940 and St. Francis School of Nursing in 1943. She was a 1 st Lt. in the United States Army from 1944-1946, where she served as a Flight Nurse, transporting wounded soldiers back from the Pacific. Agnes loved to travel. She was active in the church until 2014, when she moved to Arizona. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Agnes was a member of St. Francis Nurses Alumni, Daughters of Isabella, Holy Cross Altar Society, Harvest House, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
On September 24, 1946, she married the love of her life, Cyril Edward Pauly, in Waterloo, KS. They were married for over 20 years before his passing on October 28, 1966.
Agnes is survived by: daughter, Sharon Boyer; grandson, Chad (Haila) Boyer; great-grandchildren, Kimber and Darrel Boyer; sister, Luella Vaughan; godchildren, Barb Winterfield and Tim Pauly; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: parents, William & Gertrude Beat; husband, Cyril Pauly; daughter, Karen Turnis; son, Dennis Pauly; brothers, Doyle, Edward, Edwin, and John Beat; sisters, Isabelle Hoffman, Betty Custer, Mary Kay Rausch and infant sister Catherine Beat; and godson, James Pauly.
Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd, Hutchinson with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Church of the Holy Cross, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
