Agnes F. Stramel's Obituary
Agnes F. Stramel, 99, died Jan. 23, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Oct. 14, 1907, in Gardner, N.M., the daughter of Joseph H. and Edna O. Tipton Hertel. In 1924, she graduated from Hanston High School and later received her teaching certificate from Fort Hays Teachers College, Hays. A resident of Buhler, formerly of Hutchinson, she was a homemaker and elementary school teacher.
She belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and prayer groups at the church. She was also a member of Kent E.H.U.
On Nov. 5, 1932, she married Carl C. Stramel in Bazine. He died March 22, 1987.
Survivors include: two sons, Maurice E., St. Francis, and Gary, Santa Fe, N.M.; two daughters, Jane Nevius, Hutchinson, and Cheryl A. Dinwiddie, Hutchinson; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Stramel; a daughter, Wanda Clarke; a brother; and three sisters.
Parish Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, and visitation with family will follow until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, with Father Stuart M. Smeltzer presiding. Visitation is from 9 to 4 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
