WICHITA – Albert A. Miller, 79, died Dec. 31, 2016, at his home, in Wichita. He was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Marion, Illinois, to Albert and Lillian Miller.
Albert graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor's in Education. He was a member of Hillside Christian Church, Wichita, and the choir director for First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, for twenty years. Albert retired from Houghton Mufflin Harcourt, selling textbooks. After retirement, Albert volunteered for the National Forest Service in Florida, Montana, and Colorado and was a campground host. Albert spent over ten years in Montana giving Lewis and Clark presentations at the Whitefish Convention and Visitors Bureau at Big Mountain in Whitefish, Montana.
Survivors include: longtime friend, Charlotte Campbell and her family of Wichita; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor William McConnell presiding. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, in Rosehill Cemetery, Marion, Illinois. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
