Obituary

Albert "Al" Ensz, 85, died Jan. 4, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Inman, the son of George and Marie Hildebrand Ensz. He attended school in Inman. A resident of Hutchinson, he was the former owner and operator of Wasson Supply Inc., Hutchinson. He was associated with the business for 50 years, starting out working there as a salesman in 1946.

He belonged to First Baptist Church, Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 AF and AM, Midian Shrine, Wichita, Wichita Consistory 32 Degree, High Twelve Club of Kansas, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, and the Loyal Order of Moose No. 982. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include: a daughter, Sharon Ensz, Hutchinson; a brother, Eldo "Bud," Wichita; a sister, Luella Neufeldt, McPherson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin Ensz; and five sisters, Esther Neufeld, Martha Penner, Bertha Bowman, Katherine Martens, and an infant sister, Mary Jane Ensz.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Stephen Taylor presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in North Inman Cemetery, Inman.

Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or the Shriner's Hospital for Children, both in care of the mortuary.
