Alberta M. Reed's Obituary
Alberta M. Reed, 103, of Hutchinson died Feb. 24, 2011 at her home in Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 8, 1908 in Great Bend, the daughter of Joseph & Edna Leota Tullis Brada.
She was a Hutchinson High School graduate in 1927 and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Hutchinson Horticulture Club, the Reno County Extension, Women's Civic Center, and was a volunteer with the Red Cross for many years. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Robinson's dental clinic for many years and a homemaker.
She married Harry H. Reed on November 23, 1930 in Wichita. He died April 21, 1991.
Survivors include a son Anthony C. "Tony" Reed, Wichita; a nephew Dr. Donald Brada (Kay), Lawrence; 3 nieces Erma Reed Jensen (Sterling), Seattle, WA. Judy Sims, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Grace Lee Williams, Beaver Springs, Arkansas;2 great nieces Denise McChesney (Bruce), Snohomish, WA., and Susan Reed, Everett, WA. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, with Pastor Jeanine I. Rishel presiding.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assn.,sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501.
