Aletta M. Edwards, 90, passed away on January 30, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born on May 15, 1924, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Oscar W. and Alma B. (Crane) Pippett. Aletta graduated from Sioux City East High in 1942.

She was a homemaker that enjoyed taking care of her family. On February 19, 1943, in Sioux City, Iowa, she married Arlus Edwards. He passed away on September 28, 1991.

She was a member of Hutchinson First Church of the Nazarene and was active in missions. Aletta was a board member of the Friendship meals, a Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer and a foster parent to 14 children.

She is preceded in death by: her brothers, Floyd Pippett, Oscar Pippett; sisters, Mary Eggleston, Becky Unfried.
Survivors include: daughter, Gae Brennan and husband Gary of Medford, Ore.; son, Steven Gene Edwards and wife Julie of Wichita; sister, Alice Barton and husband Bud of Hesperia, Calif.; sister-in-law, Shirley Pippett, Dinuba, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
