Alfreeda M. Toland, 87, formerly of Hutchinson, died Dec. 30, 2012, in Richardson, Texas. She was born July 4, 1925, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Howard Henry and Anna Avis Seever Broadbooks.

She graduated from McPherson High School in 1943. She married Charles F. "Fred" Toland June 12, 1960, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He died Dec. 27, 1991.

Alfreeda was a secretary and office manager for the former McNaughton Real Estate and Insurance Company and later worked for Railroad Savings and Loan. She loved to make people laugh, doing crafts, and music.

She is survived by: stepsons, Charles R. and wife Cynde, Plano, Texas, Michael H. and wife Janea, Pratt, and Daniel F. and wife Judy, Hedgeville, W.V; an aunt, Opal Greer, Greenville, Ill.; stepgrandchildren, Mike, Gennifer, Randy, Alyssa, Colby, Ryan, Jonathan, Cassidy, and Trevor; and several step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday Jan. 19, 2013, in Iuka Cemetery, Iuka, with Father Floyd McKinney presiding. Friends may sign her book at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
