Alice A. Cox, 81, of Hutchinson, died Dec. 3, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson.
She was born May 25, 1928, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Dennis and Yozelle Leighty Sthole.
A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she attended schools in Hutchinson and was a member of Emanual Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
She was the owner and operator of Don's Friendly Tavern in Hutchinson and was an avid bowler.
She married Calvin H. "Cal" Cox on October 1, 1961, in Miami, Oklahoma. He died February 9, 2002.
Survivors include: a son, Dennis Ruckman and wife Beverly, Sanford, Tx.; three daughters, Donna Duseck, Hutchinson, Micky Dick and husband Roy, Jane, Missouri, and Glennis Southard and husband Danny, Ft. Worth, Tx.; a sister, Paula Miller, Hutchinson; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
A graveside inurnment service will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2009, at Memorial Park Cemetery at Hutchinson with Pastor Phil Vickers presiding. A book will be available to sign at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, on Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
