Alice B. Smith, 91, died Nov. 8, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born April 2, 1920, in Santa Rosa, NM, to George W. and Grace Roberta Duncan Cox.
Alice was a member of South Hutchinson Christian Church, charter member of Wheathearts and NARFE. She graduated from Kinsley High School in 1938. On Aug. 14, 1938, she married Earl R. Smith in Kinsley. He died Dec. 21, 2001. Survivors include: sons, Bob Smith and wife Renate of Nickerson, Tom Smith and wife Nancy of Kansas City, Mo., Mike Smith and wife Judy of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Earl Jensen. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gifford Cox; and sister, Ivilene Cox Jensen.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Arnold presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial may be made to South Hutchinson Christian Church, in care of the mortuary.
