Alice Stutzman, 96, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 8, 2015, at Mennonite Friendship Comm-unities. She was born on June 5, 1918, in Thomas, Okla., the daughter of Edward and Fannie (Yoder) Bontrager.
She married Roy Stutzman in 1939, and lived in the Hutchinson area most of her life. Alice was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, quilting, embroidery, and had a passion for helping others. She was custodian for the Yoder Mennonite Church for many years.
Survivors include: son, Gary (Doris) of Sedgwick; daughters, Eileen (Howard) Burkholder, Marilyn (Leonard) Yoder, both of Hutchinson, Nancy (Del) Neff of Ronks, Pa., Arleta (Ken) Martin of Akron, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and was the last survivor of ten siblings: brothers, William and Paul; and sisters, Lydia Ann Yoder, Edna Bontrager, Fannie Yoder, Nora Yutzy, Ida Kauffman, Mary Ann Miller, Katie Bontrager and Dora Bontrager.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Journey@South Hutchinson Mennonite Church, with Pastors Howard Wagler and Peter Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Journey@South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.
