Tritsch

Alice Marie Tritsch, 76, died January 10, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. She was born May 16, 1947, in Hays, KS, to Auldin Hackerott and Lorena (Pfortmiller) Hackerott.
Alice was a graduate of Great Bend High School, Great Bend, KS. She was employed as an administrative assistant to the President of Friends University, Wichita, KS, for many years. After leaving Friends University, Alice began working in the Records Office at Hutchinson Community College (HCC), and then was promoted to the position of administrative assistant to the HCC president in 1988, retiring with 20 years of service. Besides providing the day-to-day office tasks for the President's Office, she was the coordinator for the Dillon Lecture Series.
Alice had a servant's heart. She was involved with missionary projects in El Salvador and Mexico in the building of houses in those countries. Alice was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, KS. She was a participant in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League program at the church that provided clothing, dresses, undergarments, and layettes for women and children in El Salvador. Alice was a 35-year breast cancer survivor.
On September 19, 1964, she married Walter A. Tritsch in Great Bend, KS. They shared over 59 years of marriage, prior to her death.
Alice is survived by: her husband, Walter A. Tritsch of Hutchinson, KS; sons, Jonathan (Barbara) Tritsch of Wichita, KS, and Peter (fiancée Paula Holland) Tritsch of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Julia Jenesse, Joshua Tritsch, Taylor Tritsch, Madelyn Tritsch, and Kylie Tritsch; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Tritsch and Adelyn Tritsch; brother, Robert (Dawn) Hackerott of Bow, NH; and sister, Phyllis (Don) Bittel of Palm City, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother, Phillip Hackerott.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, KS. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary. The service will be livestreamed on the church's website.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Shepherd's Canyon Retreat, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
