Allen Dean Beck, 88, died Nov. 5, 2016, at Mennonite Friendship Com-munities, South Hutchinson. He was born March 16, 1928, in Hutchinson, to Charles and Dorothy (Hahn) Beck.
Allen graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1946 and proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Allen worked for Blackstone Drilling as an oil field driller and enjoyed skating, bowling, and tinkering in his many barns. He was a hardworking family man, and very proud of his family. He was the best husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, and great-grandpa, leading by example and always being there for his children.
On Aug. 25, 1950, he married Lois Dovel in Newton. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage. She survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Debra England (Kenneth) of Council Grove; sons, Tony (Libby), Steven (Karen), Rex (Rae), all of Hutchinson; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Beck of California, Vernon Beck of Las Vegas, Nev., Maynard Beck (Betty) of Pace, Fla.; sisters, Mary Meredith (Ray) of Shreveport, La., Carolyn Cantrell of McPherson, Doris Demou of Minnesota; sister-in-law, Kay Beck of Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; twin sister, Alice Coughlin; and brother, Lyle "Sonny" Beck.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Military honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.

Allen was a true gentleman, and will be greatly missed.
