Allen Edward Schrock, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014. He was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Hutchinson, the son of Samuel and Katie (Miller) Schrock.
He was a member of Journey at South Hutchinson, a farmer and independent truck driver of Haven Cooperative, with over two million accident-free miles.
On Oct. 8, 1944, he married Laura Edna Bontrager in Hutchinson. She died Dec. 23, 2011. Allen is survived by: a daughter and husband, Dr. Carol and Reverend Dr. Ken Moore of Hutchinson; two brothers, Earl and wife Ruth of Harrisonburg, Va., Eugene and wife Carol of Partridge; a sister, Doris Yoder and husband Larry of Midland, Mich.; three grandchildren, Kristine and Dr. Scott Sullivan of Augusta, James and Regina Miller of Wichita, Katharine and Dr. Lance Thurlow of Macon, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Zoe Renee and David Allen Sullivan, and Cameron Paul Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dale; a granddaughter, Karen Miller; two brothers, Leroy and Herman; and a sister, Susie Ellen Schrock.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Yoder Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Journey atYoder with Pastors Peter Hartman and Howard Wagler presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
