Alma Mable Pierson, 90, died Nov. 18, 2005, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of Melvin and Jeannette Martinson Iverson Murphy. A Hutchinson resident since 1930, she was a homemaker and co-owner of Elmo Pierson's Army Surplus.
She belonged to South Hutchinson Christian Church and the former Hadley Methodist Church, where she was active in the women's groups and had taught Sunday school. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
In December 1930, she married Elmo Charles Pierson at Hutchinson. He died Sept. 28, 1979.
Survivors include: a son, Stephen W. and wife, Loise, Hutchinson; two daughters, Shirley Ballard and husband, Aubrey, Hutchinson, and Peggy Wilson, San Angelo, Texas; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester; two sisters, Gladys West and Florence Murphy; and a son-in-law, Kale Raymond Webster.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at South Hutchinson Christian Church, with Pastor Brian Barrie presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
