Alma L. Wiseman, 83, of Hutchinson, died Oct. 12, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center. She was born July 27, 1927, at Lovewell, Kan. (Jewell County), the daughter of Edgar R. and Anna Almiria Lindsay Means.
She was a retired Home Economics and English teacher at Haven High School. She was a member of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Esther Circle Women's Group of the church, Daughters of The American Revolution, Alpha Delta Kappa education sorority, and Mayflower Society. She was a graduate of Viola High School in the class of 1945, and Sterling College in 1950.

She married Lloyd L. Wiseman on June 9, 1951, in Viola. He survives. Other survivors include: sons, Steve Wiseman and wife Linda, Friendswood, Texas, Leslie Wiseman and wife Suni, Enid, Okla., and Lynn Wiseman and wife Lori, Plano, Texas; daughters, Anne Haislip, Lewisville, Texas, and Alice Jolly-Fuller, Andover; brothers, Louis Means and wife Mary, Davenport, Iowa, and Howard Means, Viola; a sister, Wanda Farmer and husband Bob, Viola; a sister-in-law, Shirley Means, Conway Springs; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roy Means.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church (formerly Forest Park Presbyterian Church) with Rev. Keith Koch presiding. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Viola Cemetery at Viola.

Visitation will be Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., all at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be sent to Victory In The Valley, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
