Alpha I. Myers, 98, died March 15, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Aug. 14, 1911, at Meade, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Lillie Lue Lawrence Heape.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1929, she was a homemaker and was a clerk at the former Beardslee's Fabrics.
She belonged to South Hutchinson Christian Church.

On Jan. 5, 1942, she married Raymond Myers in Topeka. He died Oct. 27, 1968.

Survivors include: sister, Opal Hatch, Bentonville, Ark.; brother-in-law, Howard Miller, Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Hazel Doll, Hutchinson; step-grandsons, Randy Myers, Chris Myers, Riley Wayne Withrow and Michael Withrow; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three stepchildren, Ray Myers, Wayne Myers and Maxine Withrow; three brothers, Paul, Elmer and Charles Heape; and five sisters, Esther Miller, Estella Nevitt, Dorothy Kauffman, Alma Jean Miller and Ethelyn Dunham.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at South Hutchinson Christian Church, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeff Arnold presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson.
