Obituary

Alvin Lee 'Al' Albright, 87, died December 8, 2020, at Stafford County Hospital.  He was born August 4, 1933, in Pretty Prairie, to Arthur H. and Mary Alice (Lambert) Albright.

Al graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1951.  He then attended HCC, before being drafted into the United States Army.  Al worked in the carpet business his entire life, starting at Wiley's.  He later owned and operated Design and Carpet Company in downtown Hutchinson.  In addition, Al enjoyed farming for more than 30 years.

He loved the lake and water skiing with his family.   Al was a member of the Hutchinson Civitan Club and was one of the original members of the Hutchinson Salt Minors Barbershop Chorus, where he sang baritone.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, and sang in the church choir for over 45 years.

On June 26, 1960, he married Rose Boeken in Lorraine.  They shared 60 years of marriage.

Al is survived by:  wife, Rose of Hutchinson; children, Bob Albright of Maize, Jacque McMillan (Tom) of Stafford; grandchildren, Kassidy Albright of Pleasant Hill, MO, and Gatlin McMillan of Stafford; and sisters, Marilyn Barr (Herb) of New Jersey and Lou Ann Wallace of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; sister, Joyce Wertz and husband Fred; and brother-in-law, Erland Wallace.

Private graveside service will be held at Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie with Pastor John Chastain officiating.  Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
