Alvin F. "Al" Befort,
67 died Sept. 29, 2006 at Galachia Heart Hospital, Wichita.

He was born Oct. 3, 1938, in Munjor, the son of Cy and Clara Dreher Befort. He graduated from Great Bend High School and Fort Hays State University. A resident of Hutchinson for the last 21 years, formerly of Great Bend, Wichita, Garden City and Mulvane, he was a retail account manager for McKesson for 39 years.

He belonged to Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. On March 5, 1964, he married Vickie Pryor in Manhattan. She survives.

Other survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Allison and Brett Bruch, Mount Hope and Lisa and Scott Stoss, Hutchinson; two brothers, Keith and wife Annette and Curt and wife Janice, all of Wichita; two sisters, Nancy McCeary and Wanda Narvid, both of Wichita; sisters-in-law Deidre Collier, San Luis Obispo, Calif. and Brenda Carpenter, Leavenworth, Lois Befort, Pratt and Donna Befort, Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren, Dalton and Samantha Stoss; step-grandchildren, Jacqueline and Jacob Bruch; numerous nephews and nieces; aunts and uncles, Joe and Vi Befort, Oklahoma City, LaVerna and Harold Boger, Rita Stewart and Letha Ferguson all of Wichita and Victoria Befort, Great Bend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim and Ken; and a nephew, Jason Befort.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Great Bend Cemetery.
