Obituary

Alvin 'Al' P. Eash, 87, died October 22, 2020, at his home.  He was born May 9, 1933, in Yoder, to Perry H. and Anna S. (Yoder) Eash.

Al volunteered alternative civilian service from 1952 to 1953 in a psychiatric hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.  He mixed and delivered feed for Bornholdt Feed and Seed, and sold feed and seed for Security Elevator.  Al retired with 30 years of service as the elevator superintendent for The Farmers Cooperative Grain Company, Abbyville.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, passionately mowing his lawn for the past 20 years, playing the guitar, mandolin, and Qchord, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Al was a member of Journey@South Hutch.

On August 31, 1958, Al married Betty A. Borntrager, in Hutchinson.  They shared over 62 years of marriage.

He is survived by:  wife, Betty Eash of Abbyville; children, Carlton (Diana) Eash of Hutchinson, Doreen (Mark) McCabe of Larkspur, CO, and Evert Eash of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Crystal (Will) Weast, Bayleigh (Brandon) Warner, Carla Eash, Emily McCabe, Christa McCabe, Ryan McCabe, Jared Eash, Tyler (Amanda) Eash, Lindsy Eash, and Kelsey (Caeden) Fly; step-grandchild, James (Kali) Avery; great-grandchildren, Cody Weast, Raelynn Warner, Cooper Eash, Harper Eash, Cannon Bryant, Kambrie Fly, and Kip Fly; step-great-grandchildren, Abi Weast and Austin Weast; and siblings, Samuel (Esther) Eash, Perry (Ada) Eash, Clara (Glenn) Yoder; and, sister-in-law, Alice Eash.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Anna Eash, and a brother, Ervin Eash.

Private funeral service will be Monday, October 26, 2020, at Journey@South Hutch, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating.  Private burial will be in Yoder Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Reno County EMS Station 3 (Arlington EMS), or the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
