Obituary

Alvina Katharine Peters, 80, of St. Paul, died February 18, 2021, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village. She was born September 7, 1940, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to Oliver and Elizabeth (Little Soldier) Frog.

Alvina graduated high school in 1958, and later attended Hutchinson Community College to earn her associate's degree. She was a homemaker and  typist for Hutchinson SRS. Over the years, Alvina loved to go bowling. She was very proud of her Native American heritage and loved taking her grandchildren to pow-wows in South Dakota. Alvina was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Hutchinson.

On March 23, 1963, she married Ernest Peters, at Fort Riley. They shared 56 years together, before he passed away on May 27, 2019.

Alvina is survived by: daughter, Gayla Peters Rizzo, Wichita; son, Ernest Peters (Caroline), Erie; grandsons, Jon Rizzo (Alisn), Leavenworth, Andrew Rizzo, Wichita, Trey Peters, Erie, Jacob Peters, Erie; and great-granddaughter, Cecily Rizzo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Ernest Peters.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary, with The Reverend Dr. Ted Blakley officiating. Burial will follow in North Inman Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
