Obituary

Andrew A. "Andy" Hoffman, 83, died May 20, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.

He was born March 20, 1925, at Minneola, to Albert Nicholis and Rose Kuhl Hoffman.

He worked for Dillons Stores for 38 years starting as a Meat Cutter and retiring as Warehouse Manager; following retirement, he went back to work for Dillons as a flower and prescription delivery driver. He belonged to the Church of the Holy Cross, where he was active in helping with Harvest House and a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 612.

On Sept. 18, 1949, he married Juanita K. Smith at Delhart, Texas. She survives.

Survivors include: sons, Albert of Waterford, Conn., Kenny of Wichita, Jerry of Hutchinson; brother, Charlie of Pratt; sisters, Florence Allen of Ft. Smith, Ark., Rosetta Sorenson of St. Louis, Mo., Arlene Turner, Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Hoffman; and a brother, Bill.

His good sense of humor and fair play will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

Parish Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gable Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
