Obituary

MINNEAPOLIS - Annabelle Schultz Chestnut, 93, died June 16, 2013, at Ottawa County Health Center, in Minneapolis, Kan. She was born July 7, 1919, in Hutchinson, to Wilbur and Anna Belle (Morris) Sterling.

Annabelle was a homemaker while her children were growing up. She later worked as a correspondent for the Hutchinson Record and Nickerson Argosy, she was a nurse's aide for Wesley Towers and worked in the SPD department of the hospital. Annabelle was a caregiver for her mother and mother-in-law for many years. Her crocheting and embroidering were immaculate.

On July 18, 1938, she married Herman F. Schultz in Nickerson. He died Aug. 6, 1993. On June 9, 2001, she married Milburn "Mel" Chestnut in Hutchinson. He died Aug. 20, 2010.

She is survived by: children, Fred Schultz and wife Marcella of Hutchinson, Rosalee Tibbits and husband John of Minneapolis; stepdaughter, Carolyn Narron and husband Jim of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; three step great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Annabelle was preceded in death by: husbands and grandson, Kenny Schultz.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, 5512 N Pennington, with Pastor Teresa Wynn officiating. Burial will be in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
