Obituary

Anne Rowland Blakey, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, February 23, 2013. She was born in Hutchinson April 1, 1934, the daughter of Fred Earl and Mary Elizabeth Lannoye Sutton.

She dedicated her life to serving the Lord by ministering to her family, friends and many children. Her door and her loving arms were always open to anyone. Anne had attended Hutchinson High School and had been a member of Union Valley Bible Church and most recently Faith Baptist Church. She retired from Hutchinson Hospital as a communication clerk.

In 1950, she married Bill Rowland in Hutchinson. They had three daughters, Sheri Gray, Olathe, Bilinda Sharp (Larry), Kristine Dean (Jerry), both of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Jason Gray, Stephanie Gray, Luke Sharp, Laci Sharp (Brett), Adam Sharp (Jennifer), Jeff Dean (Catrina), Jon Dean; six great-grandchildren, Kendrick, Ashton, Qourtney, Shia, Carson, Jamie; a sister, Virginia Mitchell, Kansas City; and a sister-in-law, Ida Mae Sutton, Lawrence.

She later married Dee Blakey and was a loving stepmother to Judy Potter (Rollin), Dee Ann Overton, Dee Blakey, Jr., Susan Payment (Rick), Lance Blakey (Jayne), Scott Blakey (Tammy), April Blakey, Claude Cochran; and step daughters-in-law, Robin and Veroqua Blakey; 24 step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Billy Martin Rowland, husband Dee Blakey, son-in-law, Rod Gray, two brothers, Fred Earl and Donald Sutton, a brother-in-law, Marvin Mitchell, stepsons, Gary, Wade and Paul Blakey.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Union Valley Bible Church with Pastors Steve Hodgson and Willard Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
