Obituary

Annetta Jean Britain, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.

She was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Tyro, the daughter of John and Nina Buster Fields.

She was a claims examiner for the State of Kansas.

On Aug. 18, 1944, she married Donald W. Britain in Hutchinson. He died July 17, 1963.

She is survived by: two daughters, Dianne Stracener of Oklahoma City, Donita and husband Don Winters; two grandsons and their spouses, Ryan and Jenni Winters, Brian and Kristi Winters; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Luke, Jake and Taylor Winters, all of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Jack and Jim Fields.

Family graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, with Pastor Rick Goertzen officiating. Her casket will remain closed. Her register book will be available to sign from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas or Pleasant View Home, Inman, in care of the mortuary.
