Ruben Anthony "Tony" Delgado, 43, formerly of Hutchinson, died unexpectedly after a sudden illness February 17, 2025, at his mother's home in Hutchinson. He was born February 18, 1981, in Mannheim, Germany, to Adella Marie (Murillo) Luna and Louis Placido Delgado, Jr.
Anthony attended Trinity Catholic High School and was self-employed, working in construction. He enjoyed running, boxing, barbequing, and volunteering with the homeless in Kansas City. Above all, Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Anthony is survived by: daughter, Evelyn Delgado of Allentown, PA; son, Matthew MacMahon of Hoisington; mother, Adella Luna of Hutchinson; father, Louis Delgado, Jr. (April) of Wichita; siblings, Lisa Chapman (DJ), Salvador Luna, all of Hutchinson, Gregory Paul Delgado of Wichita; paternal grandmother, Lucille Alvizo; uncles, Ruben Murillo, Jr. (Larry Van Sickle), Robert "Bobby" Murillo, David Murillo (Dreda), Dean Delgado (Geri), Daniel Delgado (Janet), David Delgado, Robert Delgado, Christopher Delgado, and Rojelio Delgado (Lynette), and Thomas Delgado; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Teresa and Ruben Murillo, Sr. and paternal grandfather, Louise Delgado, Sr.
Parish Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m., both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, with Father Eric M. Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with the family present to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Anthony Delgado Memorial Fund, (to benefit his son and daughters' education) in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. To benefit the Anthony Delgado Memorial Fund, please make the check payable to Elliott Mortuary.
The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for the care, love, compassion, and dignity shown to Anthony, especially Diana Spencer, Julie Ensz, and Lisa Begely.
