Obituary

Archie Carlile, 83, died Oct. 4, 2009 at his home in Hutchinson. He was born April 17, 1926 in Cheney to Jacob Powell and Fannie Mae Wright Carlile.

He was an auto mechanic at Cheney Chevrolet, then a mechanic and gas plant operator at Peoples Natural Gas Company in Cheney. On April 17, 1948 he married Wilma Adean Suiter in Yuba City, CA. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Allen, Haysville and Cy and wife Janet, Hutchinson; three daughters, Carolyn Rodriguez and husband Alonso, Wichita, Dianna Boothe and husband Don, Wichita, Sandra Bennett and husband Robert, Owasso, OK; brother, Junior Carlile and wife Ann, Bentonville, AR; two sisters, Mary Varble, Wichita, Ramona Kohler, Cheney; 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother John Carlile and three sisters, Lucille Hall, Alta Ast, and Pearl Black.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2009 in Pioneer Cemetery, Cheney with Rev. Phil Fischer officiating. Friends may call 5-9 Tuesday and 9-9 Wednesday with the family to receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans in care of the mortuary.
