Obituary

Archie P. Kittle, 93, died June 25, 2010, at Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Abbyville, to Wiley Washington and Nannie Olivia Knotts Kittle. A lifetime Abbyville and Hutchinson area resident, he was a retired farmer.

He belonged to Salem Community Church of the Brethren, Nickerson. He served on the Nickerson Co-op Board.

On Aug. 4, 1940, he married Aurelia I. Hipp in Hutchinson. She died Feb. 27, 2010. Survivors include: a daughter, Janice and Dennis Reffner, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Debra and Dr. James Moffitt, Dodge City, Rob and Melanie Green, Hutchinson, Annette and Wade Radina, Manhattan; three step-grandchildren, Kevin and Stephanie Reffner, Wichita, Brian and Kathy Reffner, Hutchinson, and Denny Reffner, Fort Collins, Colo.; 10 great-grandchildren, Tyrel, Mishayla, Eleanor, and Katharine Moffitt, Sage Jones, Owen, Tess and Haden Green, and Gabriella and Amelia Radina; six step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Julia E. Ehling, Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Emery, Wesley, Frank, John and Glenn Kittle, and four half-sisters.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday June 28, 2010, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Jeanine Rishel and Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, or the church, both in care of the funeral home.
