Arden Renee Massey Bastion, 49, died January 5, 2023, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born June 18, 1973, in Hutchinson, to Ruth Ann Massey.

Arden graduated from Trinity High School in 1991.

Arden was a homemaker, an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, and admired art created mostly by her friends. Known as a "foster mother" to many, she enjoyed caring for many children as well as other people. Arden was a great cook and baker. Her cakes and especially pies were the best to those who enjoyed them. Arden was also proud of her hobby in making handmade soaps and essential oils.

On May 26, 2002, Arden married Michael Bastion.  They shared twenty years of marriage together.

Arden is survived by: husband, Michael, Hutchinson; daughter, Madeleine Bastion; sons, Teige and Dorran Bastion; uncles, Andrew (Sarah) Massey, Danny (Melody) Massey, Sam (Sheryll) Massey; aunt, Donna (Linda) Massey; father- and mother-in-law, Maurice and Donna Bastion; brother-in-law, Jared Bastion; uncle-in-law, Mark Bastion; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her mother; grandparents, Leroy Charles and Pollyann Massey; and grandparents-in-law, Charles and Eulalia Scherer and Abe and Viola Bontrager.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday 13, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, with Todd Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family present.
