Obituary

BURRTON - Arlena Kaye "Peaches" Smith, 64, died Nov. 17, 2008, at her home, Burrton.

She was born Feb. 10, 1944, in Laverne, Okla., the daughter of Caleb Harry and Bernice LeCrone Tolle.

She was a resident of Burrton but had previously lived in Wichita, Madison, Battle Creek and Norfolk, Neb. She was a homemaker at the time of her death but had worked as a beautician and CNA.

She belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church, was a member of the Altar Society at the church and a member of the PTA.

She was a lovely wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed.

On June 16, 1962, she married Raymond P. Smith in Alva, Okla. He survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Steve Smith and wife, Tonja, Hutchinson, Joseph Smith, Atlanta, and John Smith, Hutchinson; five daughters, Dorothy Harvey, Wichita, Lora Swart and husband Kenneth, Haysville, Susan Smith, Nancy Duke, Peggy Ruckle and husband Clinton, all of Wichita; a brother, Delbert Tolle, Enid, Okla.; a sister, Faye Combrink, Enid, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Smith; a sister, Bernita Edwards; and her parents.

Parish rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Star Cemetery, Burrton.
