Arlene V. Bowser, 96, died January 18, 2018, at the Stanton County Long Term Care Facility, Johnson, KS. She was born November 16, 1921 in Hutchinson, to Curtis B. and Grace B. (Tolbert) Rodarmel.

She was a homemaker and helped farm alongside her husband for many years. Arlene was a Sterling resident from 1944 to 1985 before moving to Hutchinson. In more recent years she moved to Johnson, KS.

Arlene married Alex Walton on December 17, 1948 in Wichita, KS. They divorced in 1979. She married Carl Bowser on April 4, 1981 in Wellington, CO. He died October 3, 2001.

Survivors include: sons, Raymond Walton and wife Jo, Bruce Walton ; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Rodarmel.

She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Stanton County Library or to the Stanton County Long Term Care Facility, both in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
