Arlene Jane Schraeder, 84, died March 11, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Kanopolis, Kan., to John and Minnie (Reeves) McCall.

She married Floyd Schraeder on Oct. 14, 1951, in Kanopolis. He died Aug. 4, 2007.

Prior to his death, Arlene and Floyd were very involved in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Ash Valley, Kan. They were "Snow Birds" living in Texas during the winters and loved traveling together. Arlene was active in the UMW, EHU, and 4-H. She loved cooking, sewing and gardening but most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include: her son, Robert Schraeder and wife Tabetha of Hutchinson; daughter, Joyce Phillips and husband Jim of Buhler; grandchildren, Sarah Mattson (Paul) of Port Angeles, Wash., Karen Beaudet (Joe) of Kansas City, Mo., Katie Wagoner (Joel) of McPherson, and Preston Schraeder of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Floyd McCall.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jeff Slater presiding.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, in La Crosse Cemetery, La Crosse, with Reverend Janice Farrell presiding.
