INMAN – Arnold "Arn" Willems, 88, died July 14, 2014, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born April 13, 1926, in Garden City, Kan., the son of Dietrich "D.D." and Lizzie (Thiessen) Willems.
Arn was a finish carpenter for Jost and Wiens. After retirement he and Helen sold woodworking at craft shows.
He was a member of Inman Mennonite Church. On April 29, 1949, he married Helen Wiens in Inman, Kan. She died Sept. 6, 1994. He later married Alice Blew and she preceded him in death also. Survivors include: four children, Jolene Snyder and husband Glenn, Shirley Tomlinson and husband Tom, all of Inman, Dale Willems and wife Rosemary, Gary Willems and wife Joleen, all of Hutchinson; a brother, Andrew Willems and wife Donna of Salem, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wives; brothers, John and Pete; infant brothers, Aaron, Abraham; a sister, Anna Thiessen; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Inman Mennonite Church, with Pastors Marvin Zehr and Tyler Vance presiding. Burial will follow at North Inman Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
