Obituary

Arthur Paul Aich, 78, died Nov. 3, 2009, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

He was born June 23, 1931, in Hays, the son of Joseph R. and Frances C. Sweeny Aich.

He graduated in 1949 from St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He later worked as a machinist with Farmland Industries, Eaton Corp. and Collins Industries.

Arthur was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose #982.

On Oct. 28, 1952, he married Alma Marie Schumacher in Hays. She survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Kenneth Aich of Burrton, Donald Aich of Hutchinson; daughter, Debora Cobb and husband Gary, of Burrton; sisters, Mary Jean Richmeier and husband E.J., of Shell Knob, Mo., Frances Weaver, of Aurora, Colo.; godson, Glenn Richmeier, of Woodland Park, Colo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe, Leo and Bob Aich; godson, Ricky Schumacher; and nephew, Ron Weaver.

Parish rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday Nov. 7, 2009, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military graveside honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to St. Teresa's Catholic School, in care of the mortuary.
