Obituary

Audra M. Mettscher, 80, died Jan. 1, 2008, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born Dec. 9, 1927, at Worth, Mo., the daughter of Ralph and Effie L. Fickle Gladstone. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a hairdresser and a homemaker.

She belonged to Zion Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose Chapter 1371, and was a former member of Sweet Adelines and the Order of Eastern Star.

On Nov. 1, 1951, she married Milton L. "Mitch" Mettscher at Weatherford, Texas. He died Dec. 22, 2004.

Survivors include: a son, Fritz J. Mettscher, California; two daughters, Libby Custer, Sioux City, Iowa, and Marsha Harden, Azel, Texas; a brother, Joseph Ralph Gladstone Jr., Phoenix; a sister, Helen Sowers, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, Joseph Greve and Michelle Greve.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Buhla Irene Klatt.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Henry Hartman presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Crematory and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
