Augusta Ellen Shehorn, 88, died May 16, 2009, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St Joseph Campus, Wichita. She was born January 27, 1921, in Hannibal, Mo., to John and Ellen Duncan Wyatt. A resident of Wichita for 17 years, previously of Hutchinson, she was a retired cook at Hutchinson Community College.

She was a member of Assembly of God, Hutchinson.

On April 27, 1941 she married Elmas E. Shehorn in Hutchinson. He died September 18, 1992.

Survivors include: son, Robert E. Shehorn and wife Juanita, Hutchinson; daughter, Barbara Simmons, Wichita; four grandchildren, Lisa L. Radi and husband Curt, Hutchinson, Lori L. Spaeny, Buffalo Grove, Ill., Janette Keathley and husband Bobby, Wichita, and Amy Terrell and husband Eddy, Blackwell, Okla.; six great-grandchildren, Keaton R. Radi, Phoenix, Brooke Schroeder and husband Georgie, Wichita, Mickey and Matthew Hutchison, and Faith Marie Terrell and Eddy Terrell, Jr., all of Blackwell, Okla.; a great-great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Schroeder, Wichita; and a sister Mary Schaffer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jeffrey Willhite, brothers, Harold and Harvey Wyatt and sister, Virginia Foust.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ron Kite officiating.
