Austin William Rea, 29, of Fort Worth, TX, died June 21, 2023. He was born October 29, 1993, in Newton, to Troy A. Rea and Tanya S. (Laughlin) Ketchum.

Austin attended Trinity Jr./Sr. High School and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2012. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Rock Solid, Inc. Austin enjoyed playing sports including: football, track, and basketball. He loved to draw, hang out with family and friends, and working out at the gym.

Austin is survived by: his father, Troy Rea of McLouth; mother, Tanya Ketchum (Tom) of Shell Knob, MO; brother, Taylor Rea; sisters, Molly Rea and Kimberly Davidson; step-brothers, Dustin Ketchum, Ryan Ketchum; and grandmother, Patricia Rea of Leavenworth.

He was preceded in death by: grandparents, William (Bud) Laughlin, Brenda Laughlin, and Ted I. Rea.

Cremation has taken place. Parish Rosary will be 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Hesston Cemetery.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
