Barbara Ione Armbrust, 86, passed away April 2, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born January 5, 1939, to Eduard Emmanuel and Alberta Lorene (Scarnier) Hafermann in Butler, MO.

Barbara graduated from Ellsworth HS in 1956 and from Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing with an RN degree in 1959.  She worked as a nurse for thirty-five years.  She enjoyed cross stitching, reading, watching K-State and college football as well as "America's Got Talent."

On September 10, 1960, she married Arthur "Art" Armbrust in Ellsworth. They celebrated 45 years of marriage before he passed in 2006.  They had two children: David and Cheri.

Barbara is survived by her: children, David Armbrust of Hutchinson and Cheri Hernandez (Neil) of Helotes, TX; grandchildren, Morgan Armbrust of Ann Arbor, MI, Aaron Armbrust of Hutchinson, and Kendall and Lauren Hernandez of Helotes, TX.

She was preceded in death her husband and parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Evans Chapel- Wesley Towers, 3709 Asbury Dr., Hutchinson, KS  67502, with Rev. John Hafermann officiating. Inurnment will be at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery in Ellsworth, KS, at 2 pm.  Friends and family may sign her book at Elliott Mortuary until the day of the service.
