Barbara Lee Bennett, 90, of Hutchinson, died August 10, 2024, at Hospice House-Hutchinson.  She was born January 12,1934, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Leo and Anna Mae Leecy.

Barbara graduated from Pomona High School in 1952.  She was a member of CrossPoint Church- Hutchinson.  She enjoyed making stuffed rabbits for the grandchildren, crafting ceramics and making all types of greeting cards on the computer.

She married Willard Bennett on July 27, 1954.  They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.  They had two sons- Bruce and Bradford "Brad."

Barbara is survived by: her husband, Willard; son, Brad (Laura) Bennett of Benton, KS; grandchildren- Lindsay (Dan) Mallard of San Antonio, TX, Darby (Jake) Kite of Grain Valley, MO, Jared (Sarah) Bennett of Wichita, Melissa (Montana) Ralstin of Overland Park, Kelsie (Brandon) Bollinger of Clearwater, and Tabitha (John) Payton of Hockley, TX; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; son Bruce Bennett; and sister Kay Todd.

A memorial service will be 1 pm, August 17, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Michael D'Alessio officiating. The family will greet friends from 12 -1 pm prior to the service.  Friends may sign the book from 9 am – 5 pm through Friday.  Interment will be at 1 pm, August 19, 2024, at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, KS.
