Obituary

Barbara M. "Bobbie" Kocher, 64, died July 11, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson.

She was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Hutchinson, the daughter of John H. and Frances Anna Kahler Crane.

She graduated from Kingman High School in the class of 1963. She was a retired beautician, having owned and operated the Hair House. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. She enjoyed making crafts, baking, and was always a very happy person.

She married George L. Kocher on Sept. 7, 1987, in Hutchinson. He survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Frank Avery and wife Kerri, Amarillo, Texas, John Avery and wife Kristina, Lexington, Okla., Ron Avery and wife Kathy, Yukon, Okla., and Victor Kocher, Wichita; daughters, Georgianna Githens and Gail Kocher, both of Hutchinson; a brother, James Crane, Hutchinson; sisters, Mary A. Corwin, Hutchinson, Helen Schafer, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Caroline Yingling, Springdale, Ark.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Bob Yates presiding. Inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. A register book will be available at Elliott Mortuary 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
