Barbara C. Burke, 83, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2014, in Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 29, 1930, in Virgil, Kan., to Marvin and M. Elizabeth Crawford.

She married Fredrick J. Burke in 1953. He died in 2007.

Barbara was a homemaker and worked in the family business before retiring. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Carey Park Women's Golf Association, and First Presbyterian Church. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader, huge sports fan and loved to play golf.

Survivors include: her daughter, Karen Gilliland and husband Jim; son, Fred Burke, all of Hutchinson; grandson, Dane Schmidt; granddaughter, Brooke Northern and husband Andrew; and a great-granddaughter, Stella Northern, all of Overland Park, Kan.
Memorial Service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, with Reverend Lowell Knauss presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
