Barbara Jo Canfield, 89, died July 28, 2015, at Hester Care, Hutchinson. She was born May 17, 1926, in Preston, to Clifford E. and Amanda (Carney) Anderson.

She was a realtor for McNaghten Realty, later being promoted to the first female Vice President of the company in 1975. Barbara loved painting and drawing and was a member of the Hutchinson Art Association. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center.

On Dec. 3, 1943, she married Herbert Leroy Canfield in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 27, 1997. Survivors include: sons, Gary Canfield of Hutchinson, David Canfield of Trout Creek, Mont.; daughter, Linda George of Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren, Travis George and wife Lisa of Dublin, Ireland, Alexis Rhodenbaugh and husband Travis, Darcie Canfield-Riggs and husband Justin, all of Hutchinson, Mark Canfield and wife Raquel of California; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Taylee, Aria, Atlas, and Iris; sister, Doris Hannan, San Dimas, California; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Shirley Anderson, Max Anderson, Don Anderson; sisters, Iris Hollingsworth and Waive Smith.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Kim Serio presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.
