Barbara Elizabeth Dickey, 86, died January 31, 2025, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born December 18, 1938, in Kansas City, MO, to Fred Oscar and Martha Ellen (Gibson) Hornbeck.

Barbara graduated from Stuart High School, Stuart, OK, in 1956, and then attended business school shortly after. She worked as a telephone operator for AT&T and retired after 30 plus years of service.

Barbara was a Southern Baptist and loved to attend her church. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, and exercising at the YMCA. Her most precious moments were spent with her family and grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by: her daughters, Patty Zellner and Lorrie Caldwell; and grandchildren, Jayson Williams, Taylor Angeles, Matthew Caldwell, and Jeremy Gillen.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Fred and Martha; husband, Harold Dickey; husband, Bill Browning; husband, Nolan Burrus; brothers, Roland and Jimbo; and sister, Doris and Idabelle.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025 at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
