Barbara Louise Herl, 63, died Aug. 9, 2010, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, N.Y., after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born June 30, 1947, at Brooklyn, N.Y., to Lloyd W. Taylor and Margaret G. Nolan.

She was an office assistant for Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics. She belonged to New Life Church of the Nazarene.

She married Ernest Herl in Buhler. He died May 4, 2000.

Survivors include: son, James Wood and wife Janice, Hutchinson; daughters, Debbie England and husband Dennis, Inman, Diane Potter and husband Ryan, Hutchinson; siblings, Robert Taylor, Jersey City, NJ, Ralph Taylor, Long Island, N.Y., Kathy Neske, Long Island, N.Y., Wes Taylor, Jr., Va., Dylan Taylor, Monks Corner, S.C., Bronwen Shaffner, Bremerton, Wash; and six grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at New Life Church of The Nazarene in Hutchinson. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m., also Saturday, in Munjor Cemetery in Munjor, Kan. Visitation is Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson, with family present Friday 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research in care of Elliott Mortuary.
