Barbara A. Janette, 87, of Hutchinson, died July 28, 2021, at her home. She was born December 18, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, to Cecil and Georgette (Schneider) Graham.

Barbara graduated from Byrd High School in 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in medical technology from Louisiana Technical College. She worked as a machinist for 23 years at Eaton Corporation. Barbara was a member of Temple Baptist Church. For many years she loved sewing and flowers. More than anything, Barbara loved her family.

On May 12, 1956, she married Jerry K. Janette in Shreveport, Louisiana. They shared 25 years together before he passed away on December 16, 1981.

Barbara is survived by: son, Mike Janette, Hutchinson; son, John Shasco (Sharon), Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Renee Goering (Terry), Hutchinson; daughter, Brigid Janette, Hutchinson; daughter, Gwen Hagan (Guy), Garden Plain; Jenipher Petroski (Steven), Springfield, New Jersey; daughter, Sally Owen (Chris), Hutchinson; son, Jay Janette (Tonja), Seattle, Washington; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Jerry Janette; and son, David Wayne Janette.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
